Learn About Who We Are

Welcome to The Washington Institute of Dendrology Research.

The Washington Institute of Dendrology Research came about because as forest land owners, we realized that our forests needed help. Too many trees were struggling with great difficulty to overcome the invasive diseases and invasive insect infestations that was imparing their health. And many of our trees are dying or have died because of these problems primarily because they didn't have time to build up an immunity to the invasive diseases.
In addition, in many cases, no one knew how to fix many of these problems, or couldn't fix the problem in an acceptable way. We had to find effective and safe ways to control or eliminate these tree diseases and insect infestations once and for all. The loss of our forest trees, shade trees, nut trees, and fruit trees was unacceptable and something has to be done about it.

Therefore the Washington Institute of Dendrology Research was founded with the hope that other forest and tree minded people and corporations that depend upon healthy trees, would join and help us to locate research projects working on finding the solutions. And then help to fund these tree pathology research projects.
If present pathology research projects couldn't, or didn't address a particular disease or insect infestations, then a new research project has to be developed and funded. And from this pathology research effective and safe cures will be found and developed.

Our goal is to provide funding for critical tree pathology research into the causes, control, prevention, and the eventual elimination of some of the diseases that affect the trees of our forest, shade trees, nut trees, and fruit trees. In addition the forestry research fund will work diligently to find safe natural means to effectively control the many insects that harm the trees of our forests.

Additionally, we will acquire forest lands. On one of these properties, we are planning to build and develop an outstanding forestry pathology research center where advanced tree pathology research and entomology research will be done.
This research center will be called the Washington Institute of Dendrology Research Center. This important forestry pathology research center will be complete with up-to-date laboratories, research libraries, classrooms, greenhouses, tree nurseries, offices, dormitories, cafeterias, and support buildings for advanced tree pathology and pathology research studies.

With the help of its members, both individual and corporation, The Washington Institute of Dendrology Research Center will provide grants to college and university research projects to research tree diseases and find lasting cures. In addition, we will provide research funds to other tree pathology research projects provided that the results of the research is shared with the public and is used to advance the public good and welfare of our private forest lands, shade trees, nut trees, fruit trees, and public forest lands.

The Washington Institute of Dendrology Research Center is still in it's formalizing period. We are a non-profit corporation registered with the State of Washington as The Washington Institute of Dendrology Research.
We also do business as The Forest Pathology Research Fund. We are registered with the Federal government and we are in the process of applying for our 501(c)(3) non-profit classification for tax purposes.
This a great time to climb aboard and help us to get going.
